Main Story:

A Facebook alternative called Diaspora just went private alpha testing.

Comparison between hosted blog platforms: Blogger and WordPress. This blog is self-hosted. Big difference.

I use Blogger and WordPress.com and finally settled for the self-hosted version of WordPress.

Blogger, Posterous and WordPress.

WordPress Internal Link Shortcode

WordPress 3.1 is introducing a feature to make it easier to link and posts. Here’s a plugin to do it now and even better.

Facebook, Twitter and the Search for Peace in the Middle East

The Internet is a wildly powerful and disruptive tool. It can be used for good, it can be used for ill. It disrupts markets, it disrupts communication, it changes the way people connect and collaborate with one another, but it’s just a tool, and it’s a tool used by people for a variety of different ends.

It had to happen some day. Seriously do people still fall for this.

My Gmail Spam box contained thousands and thousands of this type of scams.

And yes, I did receive a scam on Facebook recently too. I did make a complaint to Facebook and Facebook make it clear that it won’t inform me of the outcome. So that’s that.

TNN, Twitter News Network. It’s already here. Everybody is now a journalist.

Just use the #hashtags and all tweets can be grouped together.

Thanksgiving holiday travel

Was it because of the unhappiness before the holiday travels that resulted in TSA putting on their Sunday’s best?

Or was it smooth because the scanners were switched off?

Could it be that the majority opted to fly altogether?

One thing for sure, I won’t be holidaying in the US for the next 10 years.
