Computer Languages and its Evolution

I remember learning some of these computer programming languages.

The languages that I have learnt are:

  • Z80 Machine Language,
  • Fortran,
  • Cobol,
  • C and C++,
  • Pascal,
  • Basic.

And now I’m learning about PHP and HTML5 and of course, Java. Nowadays, nearly everything is geared to a web-based environment or applications for mobile devices.

The Android platform is using Java Programming language.

Today’s computer languages are now written in English word commands. It’s far more easier to learn than Assembly language.

Even at this stage of advancement, the computer only sees in terms of ONES and ZEROES.

With all the varieties of computer languages, there’s a common rule to all of them.

The logic is always YES or NO and not a maybe unlike human languages where you can deal with gradations.

It’s alright to just put in a bit more sugar in the coffee; For a computer application it needs to know exactly what’s a “bit more”.

And it helps tremendously if you think like a Vulcan.

    The interesting point here is that the languages evolved from its predecessors.

    • Anonymous

      The trend is moving to natural language like how we speak.
