Twitter New Follow Button

Twitter coming of age

.

Go right ahead and click it. It’s now so much easier to follow a blog’s twitter account. Previously users subscribe by having to click-through to Twitter and then following the account.

It’s different from tweeting the post or article.

The new “RSS” Feed

How many have heard about RSS feed. This site and in fact nearly every other site have one. You need an RSS reader such as Google Reader to read.

Now with the Twitter Follow Button, it gives a new twist to RSS.

You can organize the twitter account by lists or subjects. For example, musicians, or pop stars, or bloggers and you have your own customize news feed based on your interests.

How to do it

.

You’ll get to this page:

Twitter Follow Button Page

Twitter Follow Button Page

Key in your Twitter user name, chose to display in light or dark, with or without follower count and select your preferred language.

Then copy the HTML code and feel free to apply it to any article on your website or as a side widget as I have done on the right. Easy.

I leave it to your imagination where you want to put the button.

What else is Twitter up to

I’m using TweetDeck on my mobile.

And sometime this week, it will launch its own photo-sharing service. It will be in direct competition with Twitpic and Flickr.

Goodbye Hootsuite and Seesmic? Then again these twitter clients are still around.
